The ridges north of town, Murphy Dome and Cleary Summit, sit above the valley haze and away from the city glow, which makes them two of the best places near Fairbanks to watch the lights. “Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Northern lights. However, there wasn't a structure to go to so it was all outside regardless of weather or one could sit in the van used to transport to the site.”

“Excursion was a lot of fun! Even though we did not get to see a really large Aurora, we did get to see a smaller one. Ed was our tour guide and he was very informative. He provided us with great information and some warm hot chocolate on a nice cold night! For what this excursion was intended for just to see the Northern lights, I would definitely recommend choosing this excursion.”

“Not really meant for kids. It is a late night. It read they have lounge chairs. They do not. However, they are nicely padded ones. Other chairs were like dining room chairs. We were lucky and got in first and saved a padded chair by the windows. Our guide did not give much instruction or discussion. She did let us know when we should go outside, which was nice. Snacks were plentiful. It was a nice place to stay and relax while waiting for the lights to come out. I would recommend and I would do it again.”
